During her political career, she was actively involved in the women’s rights movement. Prior to her appointment as the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, she was appointed by the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development YB Dato’ Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil as the Chairwoman of the Malaysian Chinese Women Leaders’ Caucus with the responsibility of promoting liaison and exchanges between women’s organisations of the Chinese community and the Ministry. She has successfully led Non-Government Women’s Organisations to deliberate on national women’s policy and submit memoranda on women’s issues to the authorities. In addition, she, with the support of the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development has assisted women organisations in the country to secure allocations to fund their programmes and activities aimed at empowering women.

带动妇女,积极推动提升妇女地位的计划
参政期间,积极参与妇女运动,受委为政务次长前曾受妇女、家庭及社会发展部部长拿督斯里莎丽扎委任领导马来西亚华裔妇女领袖核心委员会,负责华社妇女组织与政府部门的联系与交流工作,成功带领非政府妇女组织针对国家妇女政策进行研讨并向政府提呈备忘录,并在部长的全力支持下成功为国内妇女组织申请政府拨款及展开各项有利于提升妇女的计划与活动。
