积极推动妇女保健活动，举办子宫颈癌醒觉运动

有感于女性对预防子宫颈癌的醒觉不足，从2008年开始在全国举办子宫颈癌醒觉运动，成功在一年里吸引千余名女性注射子宫颈癌疫苗，并积极游说卫生部加速落实为学生进行免费疫苗注射的政策，获得卫生部长拿督斯里廖中莱的全力支持，于2009年获得了内阁的批准拨款1亿5000万令吉，从2010年中已开始为全马13岁女学生提供免费注射。

Recognizing the lack of awareness of women on the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer, Chew Mei Fun launched a nationwide awareness campaign on the disease in 2008. Within the short span of a year, the campaign attracted over 1,000 women in receiving cervical cancer vaccination at concessionary rates, and this had convinced the Ministry of Health to expedite its policy on the provision of free vaccination  for female students. The policy received the full backing of the Health Minister YB Dato’ Seri Liow Tiong Lai. In 2009, the cabinet approved a sum of RM150 million for this purpose. Free vaccination has been given to girl students aged 13 throughout the country since mid 2010.
